HAlloween Costume Guidelines

Friday, October 26, 2018 Dear Parents and Guardians,

The safety of all Hamilton High School students and staff is our number one priority. In anticipation of upcoming Halloween festivities, I am writing this memo to provide guidelines regarding Halloween costumes worn by students, staff, and visitors.

First and foremost, Halloween costumes may not be demeaning to any person or group based on age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, nationality, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or to any individual, staff or employee.

Considering the above, please adhere to the following district policies:

  • No weapons or replica weapons are to be brought to any District property.

  • No masks may be worn by individuals. Further, no makeup (including clown makeup)

that completely obscures the identity of an individual may be worn on any District

    property.

  • No costume may be worn that is unsafe or that may create a safety hazard. Costumes

may not impair an individual’s movement.

We want all students to feel comfortable and safe in an environment conducive to learning. We appreciate your cooperation and wish everyone a safe, fun-filled Halloween.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at (310) 280-1400. Sincerely,

    Brenda Pensamiento Principal
