Summer at Barnard College

For current 10th and 11th grade girls. Barnard provides a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy a pre-college experience and college preparation while exploring New York City. Among their programs, they have two, Summer in the City and Liberal Arts Intensive, that allow students to choose from an array of subjects including writing, literature, art, theatre, film studies, psychology, computer science, architecture, religion, political science and more. The Young Women's Leadership Institute is a 9-day program that focuses on leadership and gender studies. In addition, there is Dance in the City, which takes advantage of dance performances across the city, technique classes at The Ailey Extension at the Joan Weill Center for Dance, a STEM program, and Entrepreneurs-in-Training, an immersive 10-day program.

For the 4-week students, they also offer 4-week workshops with Admissions Counselors as well as visits to workplaces around NYC as part of their Beyond the Gates series about life in and after college.
