We are pleased to announce that our school has been selected to participate in the state field test of the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California, the ELPAC, which will replace the current California English Language Development Test (CELDT). This is a great opportunity for our school.

The purpose of the field test is to gather information about the design of the test and the performance of the test questions. This year’s field test is happening in specially-selected schools across California. Some English learners and English-proficient students in our school have been chosen by the state to participate in this field test.

The test will be administered over a period from March 20 to March 21, 2017. Because this is a field test, neither students, parents, nor teachers will receive individual student test scores or reports.

If you wish to exempt your child(ren) from participating in this opportunity, you will need to submit a written request specifying your child’s name, grade, and the name of the test. This request should be submitted to Mrs. Monroe at Hamilton High School in room 116 by March 10, 2017.
