Dates: July 8 thru August 2, 2013

Number of periods: One 3-hr period for 5 credits. (only one class per student)

Time: 8:30 - 11:50  (20 min break)

 

The priority order for student enrollment to meet graduation requirements is as follows:

  • 12th grade students (class of 2013) who received a D or F in a course and are only missing 5 credits to graduate.
  • 12th grade students (class of 2013) who received a D or F in a course and are missing more than 5 credits to graduate.
  •  9thgrade students (class of 2016) who received an F in Algebra 1 or Algebra 1A and 1B.
  • 11th grade students (class of 2014) who received a D or F in high school courses.
  • 10th grade students (class of 2015) who received an F in high school courses.

 

Available courses include:

  • Am. Lit/Cont. Comp.
  • Alg 1B
  • Geom B
  • Bio B
  • Chem B
  • Govt.
  • PE

Hamilton will only accept students from:  APEX Academy, Bernstein, Fairfax, Hollywood, and University High Schools.

 

All applications must be submitted by  home school counselor.

Who gets admitted to Hamilton High School?

 IF THE SCHOOL IS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD

After determining your child’s school of residence, (which can be verified using School Finder @ http://notebook.lausd.net/schoolsearch/selector.jsp), simply register him or her at that school.

You must have ALL the following documents to register your child. 

A COPY of each document should be attached to the original to expedite the process.

  1. Current gas, electric, water bill ONLY.
  2. Current Picture ID with the address reflecting the current utility bill.
  3. Immunization Records (yellow card) from your Health Care Provider.
  4. Establish Guardianship with a Birth Certificate, Legal Court Documents, Photo ID, Foster Home License, etc.
  5. You MUST have Check-out papers (i.e.; LAUSD PAR), Official Transcripts for high school students and last Report Card for 9th Graders from previous school of attendance.
  6. IEP's (special education) MUST be current and reviewed by Hamilton's IEP Coordinator. 

IF THE SCHOOL IS NOT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD

 Students may apply to the Academy of Music or Humanities magnet by completing a Choices Brochure (available to all LAUSD students and residents during the months of November and December).
