Communities in Schools

Mission Statement: "The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life."

Communities In Schools (CIS) is the nation's largest non-profit organization proven to decrease drop-out rates while increasing on-time graduation rates.  CIS champions the connection of community resources with students, families and schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life.  CIS is currently in its sixth year at Hamilton High School.  By bringing caring adults into the schools to address students' unmet needs, CIS provides a link between educators and the community.

    • CIS Alumni and current students organize and lead a club called “High School Dreamers,” whose purpose is to guide and mentor inclusively undocumented and other students throughout their academic years at Hamilton to insure that they are progressing academically but that they are also preparing for college and independent young men and women. The club meets every Thursday afterschool in room 502.

Comunidades en las Escuelas (CIS) es una de las organización sin fines de lucro más  grandes de la nación que ha demostrado el aumento en porcentajes de graduación.  CIS provee la conexión de los recursos comunitarios con la comunidad y las escuelas para ayudar a los jóvenes aprender con éxito, a mantenerse en la escuela y preparares para la vida.  Este es el sexto año de CIS en Hamilton High School.  Al reunir adultos dedicados para atender a las necesidades de los estudiantes dentro de las escuelas, CIS proporciona el enlace entre los educadores y la comunidad.

  • Asistencia con asuntos de estudiantes Indocumentados (AB540)
    • Alumnos de CIS y estudiantes actuales organizan y dirigen un club llamado "High School Dreamers", cuyo propósito es guiar a estudiantes indocumentados y otros estudiantes durante sus años académicos en Hamilton para asegurarse de que están progresando académicamente sino que también se están preparando para la universidad. El club se reúne todos los Jueves después de clases en el salón 502.
